This is an original Watercolour Painting of AYTON CASTLE, located just outside of West Ayton in Yorkshire, where I holidayed recently. This is a largely 'en plein air' piece, painted mostly on location; I set up my easel amongst a herd of some 20 cattle and sheep ... so was a little uncomfortable at times!
The painting measures 14 x 10 inches on paper measuring 15 x 11 inches. The paper is Arches 300gsm Rough; the paint is Winsor and Newton 'Professional' grade watercolour paints. These materials are of the highest quality and of 'Archival' standard.
The artwork is offered without a frame or mount. This allows the purchaser to choose their own surround, rather than for me o make that choice for them; it also enables me to offer the work at a lower cost as it avoids the much higher costs of packing and posting a larger, heavier, framed artwork, which is disproportionately more costly! I have included a 6th photo of the work that shows it in a white, double card mount to give you an idea of how it could look; however, the mount selling is NOT included in the offer.
