Art deco alligator handbag, reddish brown, rounded top, top handle, fine grained alligator, unusual design, midcentury glamour, selling collectible
Wow...this number is a real beauty. It came from the estate of the village doctor's wife who was the style setter of the town.
This purse has a vey fine alligator grain and a rounded top to give it the deco look. It sort of looks like a small doctor's bag. There are four feet on the bottom. it was made by Sterling.
It is in very good condition and is perfectly useable. The handle has been repaired and is solid but has a couple of black marks where the repairs were made.
Alligator was once the epitome of style and class. Women lusted for it. (Then came Crocs)
It measures 6 by 10 by 4 inches with a 14.5 inch strap.
If you are going to do selling something, do it properly.
Theater is life with the dull bits cut out. .
The doctor's wife died. She died recently at 98 in her own home after a life well lived. She was the last of the town's war brides.
She was known as the most elegant and delightful hostess in the village, and kept an impeccably tasteful home.
Alas, her children and grandchildren were not interested in her china, crystal or glassware, or really, anything else that kept her moored to her roots in a small town far away from home.
Their loss is your gain.
