Lovely art print by artist Basil Ede of three White-breasted Nuthatches bird on a white dogwood tree. Basil Ede signature at the bottom of the print, along with 1969 D.A.C., N. Y. marking. The print is beautifully bordered in baby blue mat and frame, and it is behind glass. Basil Ede (1931—2016) was an English wildlife artist specializing in avian portraiture, noted for the ornithological (a branch of zoology that concerns the "methodological study and consequent knowledge of birds") precision of his paintings. In 1964, Ede became the first living artist to be honored with a one-man show at the National Collection of Fine Arts, Washington D.C. In his foreword, Prince Philip, himself a collector of Ede's work, ranked the English painter among the world's great wildlife artists. Approximate size with frame: selling Length 25" x Width 29".
