1890s The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe / T Fisher Unwin, London / With Twenty Illustrations by Kauffman / selling Antique Book
An antique copy of The Adventures selling of Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe. Published in the 1890s by T Fisher Unwin, London. With twenty black and white illustrations by Kauffman.
Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. All edges are shiny gilt. Cracks open in a few places, but the binding is good and strong. Has an armorial book plate on a front endpaper with the name of Harington Balfour. It would be interesting to research this distinctive name. After a quick search I can see it is possible this copy may have belonged to an ancestor of Harold Harington Balfour, The 1st Baron Balfour of Inchyre.
In rust brown cloth covered boards with decoration to the front and spine and shiny gilt titles. In good order, unfaded and bright. Has a couple of light marks, one on the front and one on the back. With some slight rubbing to the corner and head/tail of the spine.
Your antique copy of Robinson Crusoe will be wrapped with care in tissue and ribbon* and sent well packaged with tracking and insurance. I am always happy to add a gift card with a message to the parcel.
