When I went to school at UW-Madison in the mid-seventies, there were many selling film societies showing old movies or independently made films. This was before everyone had VCRs, so this was a rare option to see a wide variety of films. These movies wer usually shown in various buildings on campus.
I believe this is a poster for one of those showings. The posters - "kane films presents" and the address 19 Commerce are why I think that. I don't know where Kane Films operated, but since I got this in Pewaukee, it most likely would be UW Madison or Milwaukee, or Marquette, but it could really be from anywhere. It is most likely from those same 1970's
The film is The Body Snatchers. Recognized as one of Karloff's best films, it co-stars Bela Lugosi. It was directed by Robert Wise in 1945.
The poster is a screenprint. It has a great image. The bold colors are unfaded. There are no pinholes or tape marks. This poster is about as close to perfect as it gets. It measures 16 1/8 x 10 5/8. It has been rolled, so I will ship it that way. This would be a great opportunity to own a great rare poster.
