Original fine art wall piece made in 2020. Vintage mid century fabrics from the 1940s-1980s appliquéd as posies forming the shape of a heart. Dark denim background, 23” square.

Blistering heat, sun drenched, VW love bus barefoot 1960s & '70s southern California childhood memories saturate these pieces each with bits of fabric directly culled from family history. Mom would desperately grab our hands whenever we'd walk past "those dirty" hippies with their grubby feat and unkempt hair lounging & dancing about in the parks. Free spirited, free love colorful living was not her thing. Me, on the other hand... they were scary cool; fascinating to watch and man, did I want those bell bottom, hand embroidered, super low waisted jeans and tooled caramel leather purses. The space between mod and psychedelic fabrics is permanently seared in my psyche and that's the way I like it.
