This unique wiring delivers subtle mixing of pickups and sounds that aren't possible with other Jazzbass wirings.
The basis is the bridge pickup which is always on to give maximum Jazzbass growl.

The neck blend knob lets you dial in the neck pickup in a very smooth way and the sound difference is evenly divided over the whole turn of the selling control!

Standard blend pots have a lineair taper, are designed for active pickups/preamps and don't work so well for passive electronics. All the sound difference is notched up around the center detent and most of the sweep doesn't do anything at all :-(
Even the standard linear volume pots in a Jazzbass are a compromise and though we are used to them, they don't really perform in an optimal way when we want to mix and blend the sounds of the two the pickups.


The Master volume adjust the total volume of the bass.
The Neck Blend adds the neck pickup to the mix. Nice and evenly divided over the whole sweep of the pot.
The tone control can eithe be a low-cut, a conventional tone control or a V12 tone control.
Low cut eliminates muddiness and makes the sound tighter. A subtle but very useful effect.
Standard tone control is a 250K audio taper pot fitted with aMallory 150 series 47uF tone cap, or other value to your specs
The V12 tone control is a no load tone control and steps down the resonant frequency of the pickups in 11 steps adding mid and mid-
low frequencies, delivering new and different sounds
The series switch puts the pickups in series, creating a fat humbucker sound. The best part of this is that the neck blend control still works in this setting! It now blends smoothly from single coil bridge to fat humbucker!
The direction of rotation in this setting is reversed, because stepless coil split works best with A-taper instead of C-taper.
