Wood Mask selling Kwélé/ Bakwélé Gabon

This African mask with a concave face in the heart has almond eyes and a triangular nose.
Usually concealed, the mouth here is in the form of a thin incision. The mask is associated with ancestors or selling forest spirits. Tribe of the kota group, the kwélé, bakwélé, live in the forest on the northern border of the Republic of Congo and Gabon.
