This is an authentic and original illustration titled,”Dock on the Bay," part one. You are viewing the commencement of a new series I'm proudly bringing back recommended by private clients. You are viewing a complete painting of a blue sporting boat docked along the Chesapeake Bay At Bahia Marina in Ocean City, Maryland. Highly suggested by many readers, prospective buyers and admirers of my work, this particular subject was intentionally reintroduced and brought back into my collection. If you take the time to carefully review past illustrations you will encounter a series from a couple of years ago the artist (myself) illustrated titled “Adirondacks by the Bay.” There are three paintings in that particular series that I was proud to share with visitors to my site @ “BehindtheSCbyJessica,” on ETSY. Two in which show the classic and infamous yellow Adirondack chairs Bayside parallel to the popular Ocean City restaurant, “Fish Tales,” and the third one of the boats stationed in the Marina along the wooden dock. Reiterating the peaceful feeling one gets when visiting this Ocean City Maryland tourist attraction, known by locals, not only appreciated for the fresh caught fish of the day brought in by boat, but also the pleasant observations of nautical activity. The calm quiet moments one independently and leisurely pursues whenever there's a calling for uninterrupted self care and exploration. You will get to know me not only as the artist and writer here on my site, but it's also equally important you learn about my longtime career invested in mental health for fourteen years as a dementia specialist, psychotherapist, self taught artist and writer for many years. Its not a secret to those private existing patients, clients and residents all throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area, having worked directly with me in and out of many assisted living communities since 2007, I intentionally select illustration subjects I know will have a “positive impact,” on the lives, mental health and overall well being of those who know my work. The very same people have had direct assistance and therapy from me for years and continued. My specialized therapy has always been catered to those with dementia, ptsd, anxiety and depression, those who require visual guidance and one on one uninterrupted cognitive assessments. I'm known for infusing creativity, art, recreational therapy and always trusted by my patients. Clients and residents in and out of communities trust me for protecting their privacy and not violating their HIPAA, which is necessary and a requirement. When initially reviewing this colorful, detailed, textured and animated painting, you will immediately be able to identify the dominant feature first and foremost, the centralized blue boat securely stationed in front of the wooden dock. If your not familiar with my work and visiting this site for the first time, you will learn I intentionally pursue subjects that are not only personal, but beautiful, interesting to study, common and familiar to others whom appreciate therapeutic visual direction, illustrated and narrated from a different perspective than expected. There will always be a thorough enlightening educational review of my work (both the art itself and the “Behind the Scenes,” stories) I highly recommend you take the time to study and analyze the other elements within that “help visually depict the entire scenic view closest to how it's seen in “real time.” When looking at my authentic collection, you will learn many of my paintings are abstract with intentional varied random hidden objects within and around what appears immediately obvious. The painting you are viewing here is exactly the opposite, its realistic and intentionally created to represent the scene how it appears in “real time,” in its natural state. For the benefit of receiving the best treatment when studying my work, both the unique (one of a kind) illustrations and those that are in a series, in order to enjoy the visually and cognitively stimulating experience, I always recommend being patient, set yourself up in a private space that you feel best suits your needs providing you with uninterrupted time to enjoy the experience all the while working on self care. My entire career for fourteen years and present day has intentionally been without social media (No Facebook, No Instagram, No Twitter, No YouTube or unnecessary apps) but rather completely invested in dementia care, psychotherapy, mental health and wellness. As a self starter and longtime practitioner in mental health, I always know the multiple benefits of art therapy has proven to be very satisfactory.
“BehindtheSCbyJessica,” on ETSY is my main platform practicing my work, but you may also find me on GOOGLE and Pinterest. Phase one was the initial graphite sketch. On quality mixed media and graphite, I sketched the dominant feature first and foremost, the centralized boat, prior to the other elements within. I enjoyed implementing the details honoring the true appearance and model of the sporting boat. For example, you will see a number on the side coded MD 2910 BN. You will also discover water behind the boat, the wooden dock in front of the boat, the skyline in the background, backed by a row of living accommodations on the other side of the waterline. Due to the fact that the painting is extremely detailed with multiple elements in and around the scenic view, I sketched the essential features ultimately “enhancing the painting.” This preferred style and technique I'm known for typically starts with the original photograph to use as a visual muse and guide complimenting the subject helping me recreate the picture during all phases throughout. In phase two, I implemented colored pencil, using blue, black, brown, silver, gray, green, gold, blue, beige, and white. I blended and shaded in over phase one which helps visually guide my attention and focus on the entire scene. Phase three was the application of acrylic paint. With the same colors used as in phase two, I blended and shaded over phase two. Due to the fact that the scene itself is very bright, animated and graphic, I intentionally painted with patience all the while being mindful not to refrain from the necessary details and features that make it beautiful and always closest to how it's seen in “real time.” To those who know me personally having a longtime career in mental health all throughout the Washington metropolitan area for the greater good of Washington (in and out of many communities) as well as past colleagues who worked directly with me knowing my work in dementia care, psychotherapy. having read all of my professional articles published in print between 2014-2018 confirmed by NCCAP the work of an activities and creative arts director. Additionally, my Harvard affiliates know about “my life and career without social media, having fully invested in mental health and writing and living “retirement heaven,” for years. My career experience is a true story and I don't refrain sharing with visitors to my site. Included in this is the truth about my serious sports related injury a few years ago resulting in a “permanent disability and handicap,” in which thankfully didn't interrupt my successful career in mental health. It only changed the location of work. I'm self employed, work from home, proud and grateful to be in the “Washington Top Doctor” inside “circle of trust,” community equally invested in my honest career, respected and trusted by many in the community. It is with great pleasure to communicate with my existing patients, private clients, residents, prospective buyers, readers and viewers to enjoy the visual tour of each painting, utilizing my “Behind the Scenes,” specialized uninterrupted one on one therapy to work on your own self care in privacy without invasive interruption that may trigger unwanted levels of stress and anxiety in your quiet space. This is part one of this series and I look forward to bringing you more authentic illustrations and therapeutic “real time,” stories in this amazing journey of explorative art creation and recreational therapy for all of my existing private patients, clients and residents as well as new ones who visit my site everyday selling. It was suggested by several private clients and patients to bring back my “Adirondack by the Bay,” series, so what you are seeing here is exactly that without the obvious yellow chairs on the dock. For your information, this painting includes another technique I'm known for in which is “Dramatizing the Water.” The sequential order in any water paintings I do, typically includes my preferred artistic style of intentionally utilizing gentle brush strokes over the waterway, in complimentary shades that recreate the scene making it familiar, visually stimulating and relatable to those who study the paintings, analyze them and come up with their own interpretation and perspective. Upon completion I sprayed it with clear acrylic sealant to prevent any damage or “bleeding of the colors.” The authentic and original illustration is available for purchase in print. This would make for an ideal housewarming gift or simply be a nice addition to an existing collection. Regards, Jessica Ahmadi
