A 1940s beach hat with a gently sloping brim.
The grosgrain ribbon strap is stitched to the inside crown of the hat
Woven straw sections have one straight & one triangular edge. These are coiled from the crown to the brim, leaving the outer edge with a zigzag finish. The brim has a slightly rippled edge.
The plaiting style and rustic straw give the hat a textured surface.
A green polka dot grosgrain ribbon replacement selling tie is stitched down inside the crown.

Shipping charges increase with the size of the box, no matter the weight. I may need to slightly curve the brim to fit it into a reasonably priced container. It will be carefully packaged.

Diameter 17.5”
The sloping crown will accommodate most heads.

CONDITION:
The sunhat is in Excellent condition. There is no breakage or staining of the straw. It retains its original shape and is flexible.
Some fine straw fibers can be seen in profile.
The polka dot ribbon is a replacement for a very damaged green ribbon. It was machine sewn in place in the same manner as the original ribbon.
