Selling Hand Carved Hardwood African Elephant

This is a beautifully hand carving of an elephant trumpeting. Based on the size of the ears I believe that is an African elephant carved of selling rosewood. It is signed but I couldn't find any information. It looks like a name and number on one of its feet, perhaps MAEKE, 2C90. The elephant stands 5 1/2 inches tall at the trunk, 6 inches long and 2 3/4 inches wide. The pie is in excellent condition.
