This 17.5 x 9.75 x 1 inch charcuterie/cutting/serving board is made using the end grain of Ash boards. The brick pattern stripes are made from Paduak. The board has a hand grip recess on either end for easy lifting from a flat surface. The top edge of the board is finished with a 45 degree chamfer. Ash is a very hard domestic hardwood. Paduak is an exotic hardwood from central and tropical west Africa. End grain cutting boards are ideal as the grain does not dull sharp knives as much as other faces of the wood board. As the wood ages over time it will darken, as all wood species do. Also, the wood may become dull or have a dry appearance, which is normal. You can simply replenish the luster by rubbing butcher block oil into the surface of the wood. selling This will also help maintain the amazing and beautiful grain contrast.
