New Martinsville or Viking clear glass elephant bookends with trumpeting raised trunks. The glass quality of this set is crystal clear, they really stand out from other glass when you see them side by side. These were produced in the 1940s when New Martinsville became Viking Glass. They have clean curvy lines which give them a semi abstract modern Art Deco vibe. Glows under black light. These are heavy bookends, each weighs over 3 lbs and can easily hold a number of books. Normally these would sell for three figures but they are not in perfect condition - see below & photos.
Size: approx 5.5″ h x 6,5" l, base – 5.5″ l x 3.25″ w
Condition*: There are condition issues I want to mention. One has a flake on the underside of the base - see photos & a couple scuff lines along the back of the figure. The other either has an inclusion or a crack on the trunk (again, see photos.) I am not sure that it is a crack because I cannot feel an edge to it but I wanted to mention it, either way the trunk is firmly attached on two points so it's not in risk of breakage. It also has what appears to be a round spot on the back of the figure which may be a popped air bubble.
Shipping: These are heavy, it will be cheaper to send FedEx to some locations, if so I will do that and refund you the difference.
