Product code: FREE selling Maasai Gift with Purchase! Authentic Collectors Item, Hand-Carved African Maasai Warrior Rungu (Weapon/Club), Masai Mara, Kenya,

Owning a tribal collectible is not just owning an item that was made in Africa, it's owning a handmade piece of Culture and History!

"Rungu" is Swahili for club or weapon.  These hand-carved, hardwood clubs are made from the Olive Tree (as shown in photo)" found in the Masai Mara, Kenya. A rungu is used by a warrior in the wild for protection against attack. In Maasai culture, the rungu is an important emblem of warrior status for young males. A special beaded one is held by the speaker (Chief Ole Kipas in photo) at important tribal gatherings.

*Approximately 19-20 inches long, solid end knob approximately 7.5 to 8 inches around.

*The actual rungu you receive may be slightly different in coloration and design than the items shown in the photos. Each one is different. To view the actual item you will receive contact me prior to purchase for a photo.

Your purchase of this handmade item(s) helps remote tribal villages with the basic necessities of life that most of us take for granted. All products from this shop are purchased directly from Maasai villages that I assist. It is my goal to help them generate sustainable income to rise from poverty, educate their children, feed their families and have a better life. All items are handmade by the “mamas” of each selling village and the income is shared.

FACT: the average tuition to send a Maasai child to public school in the Masai Mara is only $30 a year. Yet many families cannot afford to send their children to school.

If you are interested in visiting, staying at, or helping assist a Maasai village, school or child please contact me for information, or copy the link below to donate. All donations go directly to the village, school or child with no administrative costs deducted.
