Product code: 1937 King George selling VI Paragon china Coronation plate

selling A stunning high quality, collectable plate from Paragon china commemorating the Coronation of King George VI in 1937.

This stunning plate has been extensively hand decorated and has a lobed outline and a lavishly gilded and moulded rim inscribed,"King George VI and Queen Elizabeth".

The design by J.A.Robinson shows a Coat-of-Arms supported by the heraldic figures of the Lion and unicorn.

The 10 1/2" - 27 cm diameter plate is the larger of the two versions made for the Coronation and because of its size is often referred to as a Charger. It is in excellent condition without any chips, cracks or crazing. On the reverse is the "By Appointment" together with the inscription, "A Perpetual Souvenir in Paragon China - To Commemorate the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth - Crowned Westminster Abbey May 12th 1937".
