9.75 x 58 Inches - Botanical Natural Hand Dyed Eco Printed 100% Wool Table Runner - Eucalyptus Leaves - Reddish Orange, Red, Black, Gray

This table runner has been produced through a process called botanical dyeing or eco printing. The eco printing botanical printing process causes leaves to make marks on fabric and then the heating process releases the natural dye from the leaf. Firstly, leaves are arranged on the fabric then the bundle is rolled and tied tightly before being boiled or steamed. The heat causes the tannins in the leaves to release and this creates a permanent and colorfast print on the fabric.

The colors in this piece are bold and bright -red orange, reddish brown, dark orange, black, peach and beautiful grays

I prefer to leave the pieces unhemmed so that customers can choose to use them as table runners, scarves, a wall hanging or for other uses.

This piece features eucalyptus leaves with their stems and their seeds (also called gumnuts). It measures 9.75 x 58 inches. The 1st 8 photos show one side of the piece and the last 2 photos show the flip side which has interesting string marks on one end where selling the bundle was exposed to the dye liquid adding another design feature. I added some eucalyptus seeds and eucalyptus bark to this print which left their distinctive shape.

The table runners I make are truly one of a kind as I cannot replicate the print - nor do I want to! -:) This piece would make a thoughtful heirloom gift and will arrive wrapped in tissue paper with silk ribbon making it ready for gifting. I'll also include a card with washing instructions and information about me, the artist.

FABRIC CARE: The dye does not wash out and items can be washed by hand in warm water or in a modern washing machine's gentle cycle with a PH neutral soap. These pieces are best used indoors as too much sun will eventually cause fading. Please note that some of these items may show some fraying on the edge or color unevenness due to the printing and dyeing process.

SHIPPING:
I will be shipping your item in an envelope so it will need to be folded so that it fits. Once you receive it you'll just need to lightly iron out any creases

Please allow for some difference in color due to the variation in digital screens. Natural colors from plant dyes have up to ten times more color components than industrial colors This means it's difficult to catch their beauty on a screen.
