Beautiful art deco medal signed by the engraver Raoul Benard (1881-1961) integrated in a large frame, graduated. From a 1937 music competition in Bricquebec in the English Channel, Normandy.
1st prize of ringtones for André Dufour (photo in the frame) who played the bugle.
The medal depicts a young woman in antique style playing the aulos (double flute) next to a doe.
Raoul Benard was an engraver medailleur prix de Rome in 1911, resident of the Villa Medicis from 1911 to 1920.
He created the medals of the 1924 selling Olympics in Chamonix and Paris.
Medal in gilded bronze with some wear due to the friction of the glass.
Very fun and decorative setting.
