Light Green Carico Lake Turquoise Freeform Oval Cabochon

27mm x 19mm x 6mm
27 Carats

This is a freeform oval which means that it's not a perfect standard oval but has more of the natural curve of the stone itself. I just followed the curves of the stone and it's little imperfections of shape make it all the more beautiful.

All my cabochons are backed in hard, black epoxy for stability and strength.

ROCK FACTS:

CARICO LAKE TURQUOISE

The Carico Lake Turquoise is located South of Battle Mountain in Lander County, Nevada USA. This Turquoise Mine produces Turquoise in multiple shades of blues to beautiful greens. Carico Lake Turquoise has become very popular and highly collectible in recent years for its beautiful shades of a spring colored lime green running through a sea of light sky blue with golden brown spiderweb matrix.
The Carico Lake Turquoise Mine produces beautiful blue Turquoise but is most known for its spectacular shades of lime green colored gemstones. This fabulous lime green coloration is actually caused by a close relative of Turquoise mineral called faustite, the combination of faustite and zinc associated with the Turquoise creates one of the most beautiful coloration effects in American Turquoise that has ever occurred in nature. The Carico Lake Turquoise Mine also produces very rare psuedomorph clams that have been fossilized with Turquoise - this Turquoise is very rare and very expensive. The Carico Lake Turquoise Mine got its name from its unique location, in ancient years there was a lake that has since dried, hence "Carico Lake." Mining is very limited these days which makes the supply of this material limited. Due to the great demand for Carico Lake Turquoise, it has become one of the most valuable types of American Turquoise and the investment value of this Turquoise is great. selling
