Antique Victorian selling 10K Gold & Red Paste Stone Bar Pin Brooch - 1.8 Grams #b706

For offer today I have this gorgeous antique Victorian yellow gold and ruby red paste stone bar pin!

This lovely brooch is comprised of fine 10K yellow gold. The brooch has an elongated oval shape with tapered ends. It features a three-dimensional, openwork design with milgrain accented spirals and lines at the bottom. The top center of the brooch holds a gorgeous ruby red, square cut paste stone. The red stone is prong set and is decorated with beautiful etched sprays of three leaves on each side. It's an absolutely stunning piece!

The brooch measures about 1 3/8 inches long, 1/2 inch wide and weighs 1.8 grams. It is marked "10K" on the c clasp. selling The c clasp has the type of locking lever that was invented around the turn of the 20th century, which was instrumental in dating this lovely gem.

Although it's more than 100 years old, this exquisite brooch is in excellent condition! I detected no damage or flaws, and the pin and clasp work properly and securely. It is beautiful and of very high quality. It would make a marvelous addition to a fine antique jewelry collection. With its deep red stone, it would be a wonderful piece to wear for the holidays. It would also make a fabulous gift for the antique lover and could serve as an alternative to garnet for a January birthstone gift. It's a superb antique gem!
