An authentic Michel Caugant hand painted tureen in the shape of a pheasant.
This pretty creature has been stamped on the underside with this phrase (in french) : Cette pièce en faïence véritable a été entièrement réalisée à la main. Je vous la propose en exclusivité. Michel Caugant .

Caugant was a french paté maker during 1930s. He sold luxury delicatessen in his shop in Bretagne. His son, Michel, created animal shaped tureen dishes to sell the most expensive paté. These tureens have now become very collectible.
