The Merkaba is a symbol of sacred geometry.

The sacred geometry as a geometry of forms is the complex of the religious and mythological understandings about forms and space of the world, it's harmony, order, proportionality, timeliness. The sacred geometry is used in Tantra (artful, hidden text, magic) for creation of yantras (support, amulet) which are from geometrical forms where each of them has definite sense and sacred meaning. For example: the triangle tip up means the fire and the man's beginning, the triangle tip down means the water and the woman's beginning.
