Incredible original Frances Holmes Boothby Mid- Century Earring design. Boothby was renown for her light free form designs that set the standard for the Mid-Century period (roughly 1950 to 1960). These are a very comfortable screw back in excellent vintage condition. They are concave and measure one inch by one inch. Their unusual shape gives them a lot of presence and remarkable sophistication. Boothby designs are widely sought after by serious collectors of mid-century jewelry. As was her practice she signed the back of one earring only with her lower case initials "fhb".
