Set of Two Antique Romanian Redware Rooster Dishes/Bowls - Measure approximately 7 3/4" in diameter selling. About 1 3/8" tall. Made of red clay and painted with raised enamel on fleur de lis border and on roosters. There is crazing, tiny nicks in enamel and some enamel or lacquer has sloughed off but still leaving original color behind. Back of one bowl has one of the slots for wires chipped off. (Only one slot is actually needed to hang bowl.) Backs of both bowls are engraved with Romania, 25 and what looks like No 1. Could be mold numbers - not sure. Bowls can be hung on wall or used on an easel. Any damages from use and age only adds to the charm of the dishes. Perfect for antique, ethnic, boho, eclectic decor or collectible!
