An interesting biography on the Countess of Blessington, Marguerite Gardiner. Gardiner was an Irish novelist and literary hostess, known for her generosity, charm, wit, and extravagant tastes.

Gardiner was friends with Lord Byron, after they met selling in Genoa just a year before his death. Their meetings gave her the material to write her best known work, 'Conversations with Lord Byron'.

With a colour frontispiece, and five monochrome plates.

Written by J. Fitzgerald Molloy. Molloy started his literary career working at the 'Art Journal', contributing stories to 'Illustrated London News', and other publications. His other works include 'Court Life Below Stairs', 'The Romance of the Irish Stage', 'That Villain Romeo', and more.

Undated, dated from Copac from a copy held at the British Library.

Collated, complete. Condition Report: In a quarter morocco binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, smart. Some light rubbing to the spine. Light marks to the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Overall: Very Good Indeed
