Parrot Cockatoo Vintage Night Light GDR German Democratic Republic Porcelain Lamp Night Lamp, Vintage selling Soviet Light Nightlight
On offer here is a wonderfully elegant night table lamp in the shape of a bird, in this case, a white cockatoo parrot. It lights up beautifully when the lamp inside is switched on.
These lamps are rumored to have once been used as perfume lamps. For this purpose, a small incandescent bulb would be used to spread the fragrance. This could still work today. All you have to do is put a small bit of scented oil inside, I guess, but how is up to you.
These lamps were predominantly made in what selling was once Communist East Germany. We think they are fantastic. It might be a bit kitschy, but it is definitely cool kitsch. This particular lamp is a statue of a white cockatoo parrot. Lovely shape, great color, and glazing. Inside is the lamp socket which has a regular E14 size, and we are including a small LED lamp that lights the porcelain from within and spread a subtle glow when lit. Suited for a small E14 light bulb, 25W max. for both 220V and 110V grid.
