I do not know how to fix it and the closest repair shop is nearly 2 hours away. It was easier for me to buy a new one. Also the debris storage bin is hard to open. You have to fiddle with it to get it to open to toss out the dirt. I usually have to take the red hand and slide it back and fourth several times to get the hatch to release.
