Vintage Taxco Sterling Silver Piedra Negra Aztec Warrior Brooch With selling Azurite and Black Onyx, 1950's Mid Century Modern, Signed

Beautiful modernist Taxco sterling silver Aztec warrior brooch/pin done in the Piedra Negra technique with a brushed finish, circa 1950's. It measures 1 1/4" x 1 1/4". Hallmarked AAB (listed), Taxco, 925, Mexico with Eagle Assay 3.

The top layer of sterling silver features an openwork design of an Aztec warrior with detailed feathered headdress inlaid with crushed azurite and black onyx. There are two layers of silver which are riveted to a middle layer of black onyx. It's in excellent vintage condition showing only light signs of wear. A stunning piece to add to any jewelry collection from this era!
