Vintage 1950s Alex Colman Blouse Skirt selling Set / Two Piece 2 Pc Ensemble / Polka Dot Pleated Skirt Full Skirt Princess Seams MOP Buttons / XS/S

Description

A beautiful Alex Colman ensemble from the 1950s, fashioned of polished cotton printed with white polka dots on a red ground. The tailored blouse features princess seams, a stand-up collar and real MOP buttons. To say the full skirt is pleated doesn't selling quite do the exuberance of the pleating justice. The set has joie de vivre written all over it! Note that it is very well-made, and the fabric is substantial. The set has polish written all over it.

The blouse closes via four exterior MOP buttons and one interior button. The skirt closes on the side with two interior buttons and a metal zipper.

Measurements (taken flat and to be doubled, except for shoulder and length measurements)

Blouse -

Bust: approx. 17 inches
Waist (taken 8 inches below the bust): approx. 14 inches
Length (center back, not including collar): approx. 21.75 inches

Skirt -

Waist: approx. 12.5 inches
Length: approx. 22.75 inches (with 4.5 inches in hem allowance, as pictured)

Condition

The set is in excellent condition, with the exception of a few faint spots on the blouse, just to the right of the bottom buttonhole. Note that if you wear the blouse tucked or with a belt, these would be completely hidden, but in any case, they are not prominent. There are also two spots on the skirt, as pictured, but for the life I've me I can't relocate where there are! They are literally lost in the fabric. Also note that there are crocheted belt loops on the skirt, but when I found the set, the belt was already missing. The set has been dry cleaned for your convenience and will arrive ready to wear!
