No handwriting inside what-so-ever. The book is in beautiful condition - please see the pictures. The only notable minor flaw is some light fading to the spine from long-term exposure to light. Original slipcase has very little wear. Really quite a nice item - would make a lovely gift for the special Tolkien fan in your life!
