The production of Kalevala jewellery began in 1937 on the initiative of the author Elsa Heporauta. Kalevala Koru Oy was founded in 1941.

This pattern is from Carelia, from Viking period.

These earrings are called Viipurin rinkeli (Vyborg's pretzel).
