Product code: NE From selling Scandinavian mid century modern oval sterling silver brooch by Neils Erik From , Denmark

Danish jeweler and silver smith, Neils Erik From, created this Vintage 1960s sterling silver Modernist brooch. N. E. From was born in 1908 and opened his first workshop in 1931 when he was still only twenty-three. Over the next forty years he went on to become one of the greats of Danish design and created many works.

The asymmetrical brooch is of extremely well-crafted solid sterling silver design with an oval tapered shape. An oval 18.9mm x 8.5mm amber cabochon is bezel-set to one side. The back is signed, "N.E. From, Danmark" and stamped "925S, sterling".

The large lightweight brooch measures approx. 2 5/8 inches long x 7/8 inches and could be worn in many different directions. The form is in excellent condition with no major dings, only expected minor pre-owned wear. The pin and clasp are in good working condition. Please see photos for condition and below for more detailed measurements.

Each vintage piece has been examined by a graduate gemologist. Stone carat weights stated represent approximate weights which can vary by the limitations of measuring set gems. Due to the age, antique & vintage jewelry and sterling objects are often not perfect, and selling may have normal signs of surface wear, or small imperfections due to hand crafting or production in a long gone era rather than mass-manufactured nature. This is what makes each piece special and unique!
