1950’s velvet rust selling dress with matching hat

This rust velvet dress is a stunning set, a lovely dress with matching hat! Originally part of my personal selling collection. This dress is from the original owner who wore this set to a wedding in the 1950's. It features a lovely silhouette, which includes a scalloped neckline in the back, a v-neck in the front, darts on the bodice, 3/4 length sleeves, a drop waist, a full circle skirt and side metal zipper. This dress appears to have been homemade or perhaps made locally by a professional in the Green Bay area.

Hand washed in cool water using The Laundress Baby Detergent and air dried. Hand steamed to bring the velvet back (you can also achieve this by running a hot shower and hanging the dress in the bathroom and letting the steam fluff the velvet back).



Flaws: a few small areas of crushed velvet
