Charming English Antique rectangular footstool that opens to a storage area. This lovely footstool was re-covered in a beautiful chintz, probably in the 1950s, and is in very good condition with no damage or wear to the fabric. The footstool is 13" long x 10" wide. It is 7 1/2" high, including the legs, which are 2 1/4". The top opens up to reveal a lovely storage area that is 10" long x 8 1/2" wide x 3 1/2" deep and made of wood. However, the bottom is not made of wood and therefore cannot hold heavy items such as books. It's for lighter items.
The upholstery is well done with padding on the sides selling and on the top, for comfort. This is very clean and well-cared for with no odor. It weighs 4 1/2 lbs. It's a nice solid piece, built to last.
This would look wonderful in an English Country setting (I bought this in England many years ago).
It's also perfect for a guest room or a B & B setting.
