This is a terrific Antique Engraving, Titled "A Tartar Camp in Motion" Vol. 1 Page 553. This looks to be an 18th Century Bookplate from a Book selling of John Harris, of Voyages and Travels from 1744. Focused on The Tartars. This is an original engraving and not a contemporary reproduction. There is a marked pencil price of 60.00 in the lower right hand corner from a previous owner.
"The Turco-Mongols, a term referring to a mixture of Mongolian and Turkic peoples, were often known historically by the terms Tatars or Tartars. Originally, the Tatars were a Turkic people from the Tatar confederation and then subjugated by the Mongol Empire."
This is page 553, from Volume 1. This piece is in excellent antique condition, with definite toning. Paper has an AI watermark.
