A wonderful, genuine vintage 1950s patchwork skirt made from a variety of plain, floral and novelty print fabrics patched together.
The skirt is lined with a black acetate and has a black rayon waistband.
I don't know if these were sold in kits, or if two people from the same family made the same skirt, but I've found another one with a number of the same patches in the design. There are differences, but a number of the fabrics are the same. Very interesting!
There are two side zips. A metal one and a replacement nylon one.
Condition selling is good. The seam with the replacement zip is a bit messy and there are some small holes and a couple of splits in the lining which you may wish to patch. The outside is strong and the patches would be seen. Absolutely wearable as is, the repairs would just help preserve the skirt.
I found one patch with some hand stitching.
And a small seam separation/ hole in a green patch at the waistband.
Snug 26 inch waist
28.5 inches long
