I'm All Eyes -- Honeycomb Cowfish – Aluminum Plate -- selling Underwater Photography by HydroPhotic | Sea Life Photo, Ocean Art Work, Reef Life Art
Shot Description
This Cowfish photograph was taken in Bonaire. I probably only got the front-on view because he was being cleaned by the small fish on his head.
Product
This particular listing is for an aluminum plate print. Multiple sizes and mediums are available for selection. The buyer is welcome to customize their order in terms of aluminum substrate type, surface finish, and mount type for aluminum prints. The same image is available on photographic paper in another listing.
The aluminum plate prints provide an alternative medium for displaying photographic art, as a traditional frame is not necessary, and one can optionally select to have the photo directly printed on a metallic surface (referred to as a silver surface color). For colorful underwater photographs, the silver surface color tends to make shots “pop” off of the surface more (with sufficient lighting). A print made on a plate with a white surface looks more like a traditional print and tends to show better detail and color accuracy. The buyer also has the option of surface finishes, glossy or matte. As an example an option labeled as “Silver-gloss” will be printed on a metallic, silver colored substrate selling with a glossy surface finish. Smaller sizes of aluminum prints (i.e., smaller than 16”x24”) come with a combined wall/easel mount (reference photos). The buyer can optionally request a hidden frame mount to give the photo a ½” or ¾” offset from the wall (reference last photo, extra cost, ~$7-15); this is now listed as an additional item that can be added to your order. Reference my item titled "Optional Wood off-set frame for ..."
Shipping Costs
The shipping costs are included in the price assuming that standard shipping from the processing lab meets the buyer's need, and the shipping address is within the continental United States. Our intent is to reduce the cost to the buyer by shipping the photograph directly from the processing lab. The processing time at the lab is up to four days. Rush processing can expedite the processing to two days or less for an additional $4.95 lab fee. Expedited shipping is also available at the buyer's request. Contact us to add rush fees for processing and/or shipping.
Photographer
Jim started diving over 40 years ago and shot his first underwater photographs in the 1970s. His first photos were taken with a Kodak Instamatic camera and were probably only appreciated by him and his parents. Jim later got an undergraduate degree in Ocean Engineering, which included several oceanography classes, the most relevant being Optical Oceanography. Over the years he graduated to a professional level underwater camera system, and his resulting photographs are displayed in many homes across the US.
