Walter de la Mare (1873-1956) was an acclaimed English writer best known for his works for children and for his poem 'The Listener'. He won the James Tait Black Memorial Prixe in 1921 for his novel 'Memoirs of a Midget'. His other poetry collections include 'Peacock Pie', 'The Marionettes', 'Bless and Grass', and 'Inward Companion'. Condition Report: In a green cloth binding in original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, excellent. Minor shelfwear to the boards. Dustwrapper is very smart with some handling marks and sunning and sellotape to head of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, though with some spotting to endpapers. Overall: Near Fine selling
