Mid-Century Mayan bookends, selling Artist Zarebski, was influenced in the 1950's when living in Mexico, and created "Greenstone".

These are Vintage Mid Century Mexican made MAYAN Statue Bookends. Created by Artist Zarebski, from Poland, who moved to Mexico and
was highly influenced by Mayan art. He took small pieces of Malachite Stone and added it to resin, creating an Art medium of he called, " Greenstone." He created different art items and sold them to Americans as well as Mexicans in Mexico. These were sold in Mexico, and still have the original sticker on the back from Gift -Craft.

Items that are 65 years old, selling have been previously loved and cared for in homes, and show signs of usage. LISTING Photos are important,
please look at all photos, as they describe the best Views of CONDITION AND DESCRIPTION. These show normal wear and tear for 50 plus years of being in homes over the years. the statues have flaws on their noses. (See photos, 5 and 6. One bookend is missing a very small piece of nose, and the other is missing more on his nose. I took very close up photos, so you can see. Please look at the normal photos also for the real size, and view. They still have noses, just not perfect ones! LOL. looking closely at these, it really is the only damage I can see, as far as chipping or cracking, etc.

The wood, which is Walnut, is showing light scratches and rubbing, as well as the gold paint that on the front earrings, hands and necklace.
I left them as they were, I did not want to change the original Patina. I did clean off the dust lightly and checked for damage. I am happy to answer questions about the item, as much as I know. Please ask questions before you purchase items,
