Hand painted & artist signed estate traditional chalkware Santa by Vaillancourt Folk Art entitled Father Christmas of Candy Canes, selling #97

Offered is an adorable hand painted chalkware Santa, made in Sutton, Massachusetts. He is sporting a red jacket, red and off-white striped cap and green and off-white stiped pants along with his moccasins. In his hand is clutched 2 candy canes. As each Vaillancourt Santa is individually painted and artist signed, each one is unique.

Per the Vaillancourt website: "Vaillancourt Folk Art started in 1984, when Judi, a classically trained artist with a passion for antiques and Christmas, adapted the Victorian art form of chalkware into her own process by pouring liquid chalk into vintage confectionery moulds and applying her fine-art skills to the resulting three-dimensional canvas."

It is in excellent, clean condition, no chips, cracks or repairs and measures 4 1/2" tall, 1 1/4" wide at the feet and 1 1/2" deep at the feet.
