Antique Gilt selling Bronze Mounted French Amethyst Crystal Bowl

This unusual French amethyst crystal bowl has .25" thick walls and features a large gilt bronze rosette at the center. The bowl is mounted on a round gilt bronze foot marked "MADE IN FRANCE" on the underside.

The footed bowl is in very good condition with no cracks or repairs. As a vintage item, it should be noted that the piece shows signs of age consisting of minor nicks/abrasions to the crystal and verdigris/wear to the gilt metal base, all of which are mentioned for accuracy. The bowl stands just over 1.5" tall and is 4" across the rim. The base selling is 2.25" across. The piece weighs in at 10.4oz.

This lovely gilt bronze-mounted amethyst crystal bowl has an understated elegance and would be a wonderful addition to a collection of French art glass or works equally well showcased on its own. An eye-catching and useful antique find!
