Black Bear selling hand carved from Indiana Black Walnut hardwood

Black Bear with tree branch hand carved from Indiana Black walnut hardwood on a Red Oak Base. Bear is 9” tall x 4 1/2 wide x 4 selling 1/2. Deep. Overall height 12” high with branch and base of 9” x 10”
Natural lines in the wood have been sealed

I first cut out with a band saw, shape and hand chisel then hand sand starting with an 80 grit sandpaper down to a final polish with a superfine 5000 grit to achieve a beautiful glossy finish. Preserved and polished with Danish Oil and a beeswax finish. All natural finish, there is nothing else applied to the wood.

Occasionally oil with an orange oil, mineral or olive oil to preserve the finish
