Bloom Again Metal Art flowers are created by embracing the practice of Wabi-Sabi - the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection. Using upcycled / repurposed steel, artist Richard Arfsten (that's me!) has created this unique, one-of-a-kind flower sculpture.
These "forever" flowers look great in any outdoor space any time of the year. Mingle them in your garden to add a touch of color when the real flowers are done blooming, add to a planter as the center of attraction, or hang on a fence or deck rail to brighten your landscape. Truly a perennial - they bloom year 'round, never need water or fertilizer.
Use indoors as a wall hangng for a charming floral accent. Perfect for country, cottage, Farmhouse or rustic decor.
The outermost petals have unique natural rust patinas. The colored petals are coated with industrial-grade machinery paint. The center is glass.
The finishes are intended for the outdoors but due to the nature of steel, eventually more rust may appear if the item is left outside for an extended time. You can delay the rust by applying a clear spray sealer annually. But honestly, the rust really adds to the beauty of the piece because you never know what Mother Nature is going to create - maybe more Wabi-Sabi!
The metal is salvaged from 55-gallon steel paint drums, steel barn siding and found metal. The galvanized hardware and glass are newly purchased. Bear in mind that the metals used are salvaged / repurposed / upcycled so they may be less than perfect - but that's part of their charm!
This flower comes with a pre-attached wall hanger. A 30-inch steel rod stem (stake) is available for a slight additional fee. If you would like a stem, be sure to select that option when placing your order.
The specially engineered two-part 30-inch stem is designed to easily fit in the same box as the flower head to save on shipping costs. To assemble, simply twist together the two parts of the stem, then attach to the flower head via a connecting bolt on the flower and a receiving nut on the stem.
Disclaimer: due to the nature of computer monitors, the actual colors of the flower may be slightly different that what appears on your screen. The predominant colors of this flower are yellow, white and natural rust patina.
