A little more about fobs and chains---Fobs are dated through hallmarking and range from lightweight charms and pendants to large medallions, double-sided, gold wash and spinners. Darker patina is paired with stainless steel while brightly polished ones get new sterling chains. A sterling or stainless clasp is added when needed.
Occasionally a new black chain is paired with mourning jewelry or reliquary lockets although there is usually a search for a vintage chain in these cases. When a complimentary chain is not available, the item is usually sold alone.
