BASIC INFO (and likely TMI) below:
As a former club deejay from the late ‘70s through the early ‘90s, I'm now selling off my vintage vinyl, mainly “dance” record collection. And as a billboard magazine dance chart reporter, I was given pretty much anything in the dance music genre that was released, thus most of my discs are rare, promotional “deejay only” disco/club extended remix maxi-singles that were never available outside the music industry. And what's being offered is what I would consider the ‘cream of the crop' (not the ‘back of the stack'.) My collection contains some full length LPs plus gobs and gobs of 12” singles extended-play dance remixes, both 33 and 45 rpm. Some real gems here — DISCO, FUNK, NEW WAVE, PUNK, GOTH — and a few oddities and novelties*. Many of these records were spun hard nightly in LA clubs so the varying condition reflects their colorful history. And be advised, some of the jackets are absolutely trashed. (But they had a really good time gettin' there.) But some are pretty near ‘mint'. Many are music trade industry stamped selling or “cut-outs” (promos). Many have the BPM (beats per minute) also written in sharpie on the front corner. I've also got some original-issue “Razormaid” and “HotTrax” deejay-only compilations that are increasingly coveted and hard to find. I'm not a pro vinyl trader by any means, so I'm not versed in all the snobby record collector gobbledegook regarding details and condition. I'm not using any sort of official “grading” system. Altho many have visible scratches, I don't knowingly sell anything with “skips”. With exception, the majority of these babies are for spinners, not collectors. (I will describe very basic conditional in the top segment of each listing.) I'm just a long retired LA deejay with some great vintage records that have seen some late night action and they need a new home. Any “Old Skool” DJs out there? These babies are guaranteed to pack a floor!
