Subtitle of the book: An Accounting of his Explorations & Collections in Columbia, Ecuador & Venezuela. Published by Big Bridge Press ...a gorgeous book. Exploration history and botanical art rolled into one.

Andre recorded 129 species and 14 varieties of Bromeliad from his 1875-76 expedition, of which nearly 100 were new to science. As witness to his taxonomic ability, almost all of his species are valid today.

211 pages. Gorgeous b&w illustrations - the color one pictured is the only one I found. Linen cover with leather back strip/ 1/4 leather binding. Book is roughly 9" x 12", and a heavy tome... 4 pounds.

In very good vintage condition, pages are clean and without marks or highlights. The dust cover has a little wear and tear, and the first few pages ( before the title page) have light speckles, as seen in 3rd image. Ex Libris of former owners on front end page. That's it...nothing else found.
Great book / gift for the collector.
