Old Indian Silver rupee coin featuring Georg V King Emperor pendant.
Weight 14 - 16 g, Length 44 - 45 mm / 1,7 ". These coins have been minted from 1911 until 1936. The coins from this offer were minted in 1918.
The silvercoins have been changed into a pendant by a silversmith later by adding a loop and a silver appliquée. These coins show the portrait of the king with his crown rather good.
This coin makes a great, very special and rare gift for selling a man, for example on a leather string as a necklace.
The price is for one coin.

After king Edward VII died in the year of 1910, his son George V took the crown. The coronation took place in 1911. From 1911 - 1936 these silver coins were minted in Bombay and Kalkutta. They show the portrait of the king with the words KING EMPEROR. The indian rupee from this time is made of very pure silver (0.917 silver). Later the silver price has gone up due to world war II and the following rupees for his successor King George VI were minted in 50 % silver purity only. So these silver rupees in the offer are the last ones made of pure silver.
