For your consideration we offer an exquisite antique Sevres French porcelain centerpiece or punch bowl. Cross reference of the hallmark as seen on the base dates this piece to around 1830. In a classic gloss white finish with a vibrant pink glaze, gilded trim and interior, this is truly such a special and storied piece that you will definitely appreciate its beauty. Standing 4” in height and measuring 10” selling in diameter at the edge of the scalloped lip, you'll find this bowl in very good overall condition. One tiny fleabite chip is seen just above the base where there is a loss of pink glaze. There also appears to be a tiny kiln blister, present since its creation, at the edge of the lip. Otherwise there are no chips, cracks, prior repairs, or other structural imperfections to impede with the intended use and function of the piece. Light uniform crazing can be seen to the exterior of the bowl as well as the typical loss to the gilding over the entire interior and areas of the the lip. The gilt detailing is fully intact on the exterior surfaces, and the pink glaze is absolutely brilliant. Wear is appropriate for age and a history of nearly 2 centuries of honest use, so please review the photos as they are a descriptive part of the listing. An heirloom piece of great integrity to treasure for always.
