This is an authentic and original illustration titled, “Birdhouse.” You are viewing a colorful, clean, semi abstract illustration with definitive pattern and design. The artist (myself) enjoys frequent outdoor excursions in the Bethesda, Maryland community. The previous illustration accompanying the one you are viewing here is titled, “Community Mailbox.” in order to better acclimate yourself with my work, written with occasional “one of a kind,” subjects and series, I highly recommend a thorough review of others in the collection that may appear matching, consistent, within the same context, thematically enhanced and designed. Many years dedicated to a career in mental health as a certified dementia specialist, psychotherapist, artist and writer, it is important for visitors of this site to understand the history of my professional experience. You will learn I've been managing creative arts, recreational therapy and one one one therapy with existing patients, clients and residents. For over a decade, having personally appreciated a preferred shared nature lovers activity, “birdwatching,” has been an enjoyable past time. The state of Maryland's impressive environmental friendly nature centers and historic sites are a great destination for those that enjoy the same therapeutic enhanced programming. After careful visual review of the local residential property with the birdhouse securely positioned on the front yard tree, I photographed the serene scene standing slightly elevated from the sidewalk level focusing the lens directly in front of the aged wooden box birdhouse. As you can see this feature is hanging by a delicate and supportive metal chain surrounded by other architectural landscape features. I highly recommend you provide yourself enough time to thoroughly review the clean semi abstract painting. You will notice colorful cement walls, a large window to the left, with what appears to be beautiful birch tree species on the property making the entire yard pleasing to the eye. Another signature trait regarding a preferred research approach discovering inspirational illustration subjects typically personal and relatable to viewers, buyers and readers. After taking the time carefully studying the varied elements within, I identified the features promoting the commonly sighted attributes noticeably seen on many local properties. These very same features observed helped define the transformation of the illustration from start to finish. When visiting my collection on ETSY at “BehindtheSCbyJessica,” to better help guide your review of any work, patience is appreciated. It's essential to provide yourself enough time to conclude your own unique interpretation and perspective. Reminding those art aficionados, readers and prospective buyers to always provide the time to also work on self care. Having a career dedicated in mental health for fourteen years as a longtime dementia specialist and psychotherapist, my preferred and most effective treatment has been and will always be one on one therapy. Continued non invasive cognitive assessments and one on one therapy with existing established patients, clients and residents is exactly what occurs when others visit my site. This site is personally designed in such a way providing the privacy and specialized care, I've established with the community for many years and counting. Inspired by and derived from many dedicated years of professional experience helping enhance the quality of life of others and their individualized needs. Phase one was the initial graphite sketch. On quality mixed media, and graphite, I sketched the dominant feature first and foremost prior to other elements within. When looking at this semi abstract for the first time you very well could be in visual pursuit of discovering hidden features within. A typical reactive response one gets when looking at anything aesthetically pleasing or not. This house is obviously simple darker burnt colored cement with a large window. The clean lines and background helped promote accurate depth perception when sketching the other smaller refined features such as the actual hanging wooden birdhouse on a chain surrounded by textured trees, hovering twigs and branches. Phase two was the transition to color. With green, brown, gray, black, white, brown, yellow, red and orange hues, I blended and shaded over phase one. This phase always helps visually guide my attention and focus on the varied elements within helping separate and visually distinguish the elements. Phase three was the application of acrylic paint. With different sizes of fine paint brushes, and being mindful of appropriate clean linear details, the obvious abstract features and the birdhouse subject, I carefully applied the paint directly over phase two. If you look carefully at the painting, you will see the semi abstract features sporadically hidden within. For example, there is a bird like shaped face with snout or bill projecting out of one of the trees without leaves. The bird like face is positioned to the right as if it were looking beyond the distance. This is exactly what I do when working on any abstracts. I intentionally exaggerate themes ultimately recreating the scene with a completely different perspective than one's initial interpretation. There are three important elements on the right the bird face appears to be looking beyond the distance. There are the three tiered box selling shaped square panels with three very different features inside. The three squares have remnants of mother nature inside such as the abstract and textured green and white bush on the right, the twigs and branches on top of a slightly elevated hill grass patch and the bottom right abstract features green and white uneven shapes symbolizing the wild grasses on the landscape. Upon completion, I sprayed it with fixative sealant to prevent any damage or “bleeding of the colors.” The authentic and original illustration is available for purchase in print. This would make for an ideal housewarming gift or simply be a nice addition to an existing collection. Please enjoy! Jessica Ahmadi
