NOTES
Run by fourth-generation family members today, David Andersen of Norway was founded in 1876 and quickly became an iconic standard of gold and silversmithing in Christiania (now Oslo) by maintaining quality and high workmanship standards over the years. In 1901, Arthur Andersen, David's son, introduced the enamel engraving technique in which a pattern is overlayed on the original gold and silver pieces. These enameled guilloche jewelry pieces remain a recognizable hallmark of the company and are highly collectible. Over the last century, the company has embraced the artistic trends while producing some of the most highly regarded and sought Norwegian modernist jewelry.

Designer Guttorm Gagnes worked for David Andersen from 1927-1952 and then continued working as a freelance designer. This extremely rare and beautifully preserved guilloche enamel 2-prong cocktail fork and demitasse spoon set was produced by David Andersen in the late 1940s.

Since purchased from the vendor in the 1950's, these David Andersen pieces have been stored in their original boxes and show some tarnished areas consistent with age and gentle rare cleaning. Seller has multiple styles and quantities of new “old inventory” so pleasemint
