Antique Certificate 1930s Framed Clara selling Elsene Peck - Sunday School Promotion - Central Presbyterian Church

This framed certificate
awarded in 1934,
honors James Mashburn
from Central Presbyterian Sunday school

The image is an illustration by Clara Elsene Peck
who worked in the Golden Age of illustrations
and was a contemporary of Jessie Wilcox Smith.

The certificate selling was professionally framed
under glass by a local frame shop
and the image is beautifully preserved

It came from a lavish estate
of a dramatic jazz singer who was James Mashburn's wife.
He grew up to be a doctor.
